Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix is a Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix finished second in the 200 meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. One year later Felix won the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making a junior world record by taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world for the 200m. The following year, she won the title against her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her races.
